New website in Luxembourg to order food online

yummy.lu

When my family and I lived in Luxembourg just two years ago, we lived in the small town of Kehlen. At the time, Kehlen had less than 5000 people and exactly two restaurants to go to on lazy nights when you don’t want to cook. When we first moved there, they wouldn’t deliver to us, even though we lived in the same town. It took some convincing before they trusted us enough to let us order over the phone and then deliver the food to us.

Well, lazy nights in Luxembourg just got better.

There is a new website that launched; it’s called yummy.lu. You enter your Luxembourgish postcode in the search field and it displays restaurants in your proximity that offer delivery or takeaway, or, even better, let you order your food online.

Once you found the food you're hungry for, you can submit your order. With some restaurants, you can even pay for your food in advance using popular online payment methods.

The restaurant will receive your order in real-time and start processing it. You will receive a confirmation SMS and an email indicating at what time your food will be delivered or when it is ready for pick-up.

I just entered my old postcode from Kehlen in the search field to give it a shot, and it came up with seven restaurants. For those of you living in Kehlen, you now have a choice between French, Italian, Indian, International and Asian cuisines to satisfy whatever lazy night mood you may be in.

The website is available in English, French, German and even Luxembourgish. When you order, change that language to Luxembourgish and learn some food-related vocabulary along the way.
